Burbank Helmet, MARCH 2020

A Proactive Approach to COVID-19.

To our valued partners and customers,

The developing situation regarding COVID-19 has created uncertainty and concern in our community. We would like to update you on the proactive approach that Burbank Urban is implementing to mitigate the impact of the virus within our business in the days and months ahead.

We are prioritising the health and safety of our clients, staff, trading partners, and our subcontractors. We have framed our operating arrangements around these priorities, and we heed the advice of the medical professionals and Government bodies, with a view to managing the risks appropriately.

From a business operations point of view, we plan to continue to operate our construction sites as normal as possible for the foreseeable future. Our contingency plan and business operations continue to develop and evolve to align with the Government’s advice & steps in managing the virus spread (such as possible future closures). These response plans will result in some disruption to our operations and construction progress.

We are currently anticipating delays to construction progress. Our trades have been asked to implement ‘social (physical) distancing’ recommended by the authorities. As a result, we cannot run many tasks in parallel, rather more in series. The feedback from our supply chain partners is that there is currently some disruption to the availability of construction materials. Whilst we hear China is ‘ramping up’ production again, there are new protocols in place around logistics. This is adding extra lead time between call up and physical delivery. Should we encounter any material shortages we will manage these on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with development partners if required. Overall, we anticipate we can manage through this with our partners to allow construction to continue as close to usual as we can.

The nature of our office work provides the ability for staff to work from home, and Burbank Urban operate an appropriate technology platform which has allowed us to transition to work from home arrangements with minimal impact to our clients. Our customer service and After Care lines are still available for customers to access.

We request that anyone planning to visit our construction sites observe and implement the Site Protocols in place. This includes screening at Site entry as well as social distancing measures to ensure the safety of everyone present. We further request that anyone who is feeling unwell to reschedule site visits or conduct them digitally instead. If you have visited any of our sites in person and become unwell or are diagnosed with COVID-19 we ask you contact us immediately so we can take steps to ensure the wellbeing of our team and prevent any further spread.

You can take comfort that Burbank Urban are proactively managing our business arrangements through these challenging times. We will continue to monitor the situation, continue to follow the advice of the experts, and commit to keeping you informed should any developments impact our construction sites.

If you have further questions please, contact us and we will endeavour to have those questions answered for you.

Kind regards

The Burbank Urban Team.
